FASHION FRIDAY | COLD WEATHER PHOTOGRAPHY in MASSACHUSETTS
It was about 15 degrees here in Massachusetts when I drove my daughter to school this morning. Of course, I didn't warm up the car because I'm pretty sure the gas light was already on last night when I pulled into the driveway. Woops! Oh well, we burned a few extra calories keeping warm on the ride to school. For most of the winter months, my photography is limited to the indoors because, let's face it, I'm a wimp when it's cold out; HOWEVER, if someone wanted to do an outdoor photo session in the cold I would be more than happy to brave the wind and snow to take your photos. Think about it, if you're a SENIOR, wouldn't it be fun to book a SENIOR SESSION now for photos and have a totally different look than the summer photos everyone else has? And MOMS: when is the last time you had YOUR photo taken...in REAL clothes...WITH makeup?
So, if you're up for it, here are a few outfits that would work perfectly to keep you both warm and stylish!
I love this outfit for a foggy area such as a forest with a bit of snow. I think the neutral colors and baggy sweater would look great against the natural backdrop. You could even throw on a furry hat in a few of the shots to keep things fun while keeping a bit warm!
I think this outfit would look great on location at a farm or barn that is all covered in snow, maybe with some horses outdoors. The non-casual look of it would be a cool contrast to the rusticness (is that a word?) of the fences and trees. Plus, I know a local farm where it would look amazing!
If you wanted to keep things casual and/or not get involved too much with nature, I think this look is really cute, and it looks really comfy, too. I can just picture some really fun shots with this outfit!
I would love to hear your ideas for an outdoor winter photo session! Do you think it's crazy? Do you think it would be fun? Do you want to give it a try? Email me and we can chat about styling a session for you!
